Elliott's approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, grounded in faith, and built on trust.
He creates space for deep processing, quiet hope, and gentle restoration.
I founded My Restored Roots because I saw a deep need that was often overlooked—the wives who've faced betrayal through online explicit content.
As head of courses, coaching, and community offerings, my role is to gently guide women toward genuine healing, helping them reclaim their God-given identity and rediscover hope.
Through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), I create safe spaces for restoration—continually advancing our community support system so you know you're not alone.
Why I became a therapist:
"I first felt God tugging my heart towards counselling when I witnessed the deep, silent pain that couples often carry as they journey toward healing. It was over a decade ago, during my practicum, sitting in the sacred space of those therapy rooms, where I observed couples courageously stepping into vulnerability—choosing connection despite uncertainty and fear. In those powerful moments, I felt an undeniable calling to come alongside them. I knew then this wasn't merely a profession, but a mission God was placing before me. Right there, I committed to pouring everything I had—my heart, my time, my gifts—into serving couples on their journey toward genuine restoration."
My favorite part of EFT:
"My favorite part of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is witnessing the sacred moments of breakthrough when couples realize that beneath their conflicts lies a God-given longing to feel deeply loved, secure, and valued. It’s profoundly beautiful to watch as partners shift from cycles of hurt and misunderstanding to vulnerability, grace, and authentic reconnection. EFT powerfully aligns with the heart of Christ’s message—inviting us into deeper compassion and understanding with one another, and illuminating our relationships with the gentle light of grace. For me, these moments embody the very essence of God's redemptive love, reminding me daily why I feel called to this work."
Why I chose Accelerated Resolution Therapy:
"I chose Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) because it beautifully aligns with God’s heart for swift healing and redemption. ART gently yet powerfully helps clients process deep emotional wounds, allowing the mind and body to release the pain of traumatic memories without reliving them. I was drawn to ART because it compassionately reflects Christ’s promise—that restoration can be complete and transformative, bringing peace to places once marked by suffering. Seeing the relief and hope clients experience after ART sessions continually affirms my belief that healing doesn’t have to be prolonged to be profound."
Scripture that grounds my work:
"Scripture deeply guides my approach to counselling and anchors my practice in truth. Ephesians 4:2-3 reminds me to always approach couples with humility and patience, “bearing with one another in love” as we seek the unity of the Spirit. Isaiah 61:1 shapes my purpose, affirming that God has anointed us to “bind up the brokenhearted,” offering comfort and freedom to those trapped in pain and grief. Romans 12:2 continually calls me to support couples in being “transformed by the renewing of their minds,” helping them rewrite narratives of hurt into stories of redemption. Galatians 6:2 guides my heart as I “carry each other’s burdens,” creating space for compassion, empathy, and genuine connection in each session. Finally, 2 Corinthians 1:4 assures me that God comforts us “so that we can comfort those in any trouble,” reminding me that each client’s healing journey is sacred, purposeful, and infused with His gentle presence. These scriptures aren’t simply words to me—they form the living foundation of the work I feel deeply called to do."
Outside the therapy room:
"Outside the therapy room, I love spending time outdoors—especially mountain biking, where I find joy and adventure on winding trails. I also deeply value personal and professional growth, recently completing an incredible course on Planning with Purpose, which has profoundly shaped how I approach both life and work. Investing my time within the EFT community has also been incredibly rewarding and enriching, allowing me to continually grow alongside inspiring colleagues. Most importantly, I cherish time spent with my wife, whether it's strolling together on quiet evening walks, paddle-boarding on a peaceful lake, or simply enjoying a cozy evening at home watching movies. These moments of rest and connection help me recharge and remain grounded in what truly matters."
A personal passion project:
"A personal passion project has been learning RPM—a results-focused, purpose-driven, massive-action planning method. More than just a planning tool, RPM is a powerful way of thinking that helps me stay laser-focused on my mission, reminding me to anchor every decision and action in the deeper "why" behind my work. It aligns beautifully with my vision of serving and supporting couples, challenging me to continually clarify my purpose and channel my energy into meaningful results. Embracing RPM has truly transformed how I approach both personal and professional goals, empowering me to take massive, intentional steps forward in fulfilling the calling God has placed on my life."
What clients often say about working with me:
"My clients often share that working together feels safe, gentle, and deeply supportive. They describe a sense of relief and reassurance, knowing that their experiences are met with compassion, understanding, and zero judgment. Clients frequently tell me that our sessions have helped them move from feeling overwhelmed and isolated toward genuine clarity, connection, and hope. They appreciate the balance of empathy and practical guidance I offer, often highlighting my ability to create a warm environment where healing can naturally unfold. These reflections remind me daily why I’m so committed to walking alongside each person, supporting them on their unique path to restoration."
Fun fact:
"I’m a huge coffee lover—I’m always on the lookout for the perfect Americano, always with a little bit of sweetener. It's my go-to treat whether I'm diving into professional courses, prepping for sessions, or just enjoying a quiet afternoon at home!"
